Eisenbahn in the Great British Beer Festival
"The big discovery among this month's new releases is a Brazilian microbrewery. You don't normally expect to find rich, complex flavours in beers from South America, but the Eisenbahn brewery, founded in 2002, defies convention. Its output is eclectic. Forget thin yellow lagers: these guys have set out to pay tribuite to the wider world of beer and, rather like Samuel Adams in America, or Meantime in the United Kingdom, they are rather good at re-creating classic beer styles." JEFF EVANS
That was what the British Beer Expert Jeff Evans wrote about Eisenbahn in The Beers of The World magazine, one of the most important publication about beer. Because of that, Eisenbahn was invited to have its beers in the 2007 edition of the Great British Beer Festival.
Next month, from 7th to 11th August, five Eisenbahn beers (Dunkel, Strong Golden Ale, Kölsch, Pale Ale and Rauchbier) will be served at the international bar inside the festival. Known as Bičres Sans Frontičre, this bar brings the best beers from 30 countries and the only brazilian brand will be Eisenbahn. Thanks to the high scores given by Jeff Evans.
In July, Eisenbahn was also served in the 2007 Portland Beer Festival and 2007 Seattle Beer Festival, getting more and more recognition in the specialty beer market.
